Gov. cuts Medicaid benefits for thousands

Hundreds of Thousands of Kentuckians are without dental and vision coverage following a decision by the Bevin Administration.

Governor Matt Bevin cut vision and dental coverage for nearly a half-million Kentuckians following a federal judge’s ruling that Kentucky could not require some residents to get jobs or volunteer for Medicaid benefits.

The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services calls the cuts “an unfortunate consequence of the judge’s ruling.”

Democratic lawmakers called the decision “rash” and say they’re trying to determine if the cuts are legal.
