Man arrested for second DUI after wrecking motorcycle

A motorcycle accident Tuesday evening on Fort Campbell Boulevard sent the driver first to the hospital and then to jail.

The report from Hopkinsville Police Officer Sara Damron says 49-year old Joseph Johnson of Hopkinsville had been southbound when he lost control of his motorcycle in a curve near Novadell Way about 5:30 p.m.

His bike left the roadway and went into a ditch, crashing through a fence.

Police say there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from Johnson’s person and he reportedly admitted he shouldn’t have been drinking and driving.

He was treated and released from Jennie Stuart Medical Center and then arrested for his second DUI.
