Preds’ Rinne wins Vezina Award, Subban to be on NHL 19 cover

Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne won the Vezina Trophy last night, which is awarded to the top goaltender in the NHL. Rinne received 22 first-place votes from general managers across the league.

In other Predators news, the team announced the home opener will be played October 9th against the Calgary Flames at Bridgestone Arena. The remainder of the schedule will be announced later today.

Meanwhile, Predators defenseman P.K. Subban was named the cover athlete for EA Sports’ NHL 19 video game. The announcement was revealed last night at the NHL Awards. The three-time All-Star was a finalist for the Norris Trophy and the King Clancy Trophy.
