Hoppers fall in 10 innings at Owensboro

The Hoptown Hoppers fell 10-9 in 10 innings to the Owensboro Riverdawgs in a battle of Ohio Valley League division leaders last night. Owensboro led the game 7-2 after two innings before the Hoppers clawed back with four runs in the third to pull to within a run at 7-6. Owensboro would then score twice in the bottom of the third to go up 9-6. The Hoppers would tie the game at nine with a run in the top of the sixth and two in the top of the 8th inning before the Riverdawgs scored the winning run in the last of the 10th on a walk to Bryce Walker.

Five Hopper players had two hits in the game with Blake Jackson hitting a home run and driving in five runs. Cole Cummings, MJ Rookard, Joe DeFina and John Michael Reed added a pair of hits each. Sam Traver in relief took the pitching loss for the Hoppers, now 9-4 on the season.
