Four way tie for the lead at US Open

There’s a four-way tie atop the leaderboard after a windy first day of the U.S. Open. Scott Piercy, Ian Poulter, Russell Henley and Dustin Johnson all shot one-under 69 in Thursday’s first round at Shinnecock Hills. Johnson said he was pleased with his round considering the tough conditions:

Jason Dufner is one shot back in fifth at even par 70. Seven others including Justin Rose and Charley Hoffman are at one-over. Phil Mickelson is at seven-over par 77, while Tiger Woods is at eight-over 78.

Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 13th at two over 72, Justin Thomas is tied for 37th at four over 74 and Franklin’s Kenny Perry is tied for 114th with 79.
