Western Kentucky has signed one of the top players in the 2018 class. Charles Bassey, a 6-10 center, was one of the top five prospects in the 2019 recruiting class. However, he reclassified to the 2018 class and chose WKU over a number of schools including Kansas, LSU, Texas A&M and UCLA among others. The native of Nigeria played at Aspire Academy in Louisville last season averaging 19.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game.
