MLB Roundup-Reds, Braves win-Cards, Cubs lose

The Cincinnati Reds scored seven times over the final three innings to beat the Kansas City Royals 7-0. Adam Duvall broke open a 3-0 game with a grand slam in the ninth inning as Cincinnati swept the two-game series. The Reds are off today before opening a weekend series at Pittsburgh tomorrow night.

In the National League: The San Diego Padres built a 4-0 lead and hung on to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2. The Cardinals have dropped three of their last four games. The Redbirds are off today.

Jhoulys Chacin fired six scoreless innings as the Milwaukee Brewers blanked the Chicago Cubs for the second straight game 1-0. The Cubs are off today.

Rookie Michael Soroka and three relievers combined on a two-hitter as the Atlanta Braves blanked the New York Mets 2-0. Soroka took a no-hitter into the seventh before allowing his only hit. The Braves welcome the San Diego Padres to Sun Trust Park this evening.
