MLB Roundup-DeSclafani gets first win in two years for Reds

Scooter Gennett’s two-run single highlighted a four-run fourth inning as the Cincinnati Reds doubled up the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 and avoided a three-game sweep at Great American Ball Park. Anthony DeSclafani yielded three runs, two earned, in five innings of work to earn his first win.

The Reds are off today while the Cardinals open a series with San Diego tonight at Busch Stadium.

Elsewhere in the National League: The Pittsburgh Pirates reeled off five runs in the sixth inning as they knocked off the Chicago Cubs 7-1. The Cubs open a series at the Milwaukee Brewers this evening.

The Los Angeles Dodgers cruised past the Atlanta Braves 7-2. Ozzie Albies and Freddie Freeman homered in the fourth to provide the Atlanta offense. The Braves are off today.
