Union County and Christian County win 2nd region Baseball Semis

2nd region Baseball action continued at Christian County’s Colonel Field last night. The Union County Braves got a no hitter from Davis Corbett in defeating Trigg County 4-1 in the first semifinal. The Braves improved to 19-20 with the victory while the Wildcats finished the season 19-12.

In the second game, Christian County came away with a 4-3 win over Henderson County. Each team scored a run in the first, then Christian County added what was first a three run home run from Jase Polley, but he was called out for not stepping on first base in the bottom of the third inning. The Colonels did score twice to take a 3-1 lead.

Henderson County added a run in the top of the fourth to pull to within 3-2, then Christian County got a single run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-2, then Henderson pulled to within 4-3 in the top of the sixth. Wyatt Stevenson got the pitching win for Christian County, now 19-12 while Henderson County concluded the season 21-12.

The All 2nd region Baseball team was announced last night with Christian County’s Wyatt Stevenson and UHA’s Drew McGowan the only players from the three in town schools making the team.
