Woman facing murder charge after fatal Logan Co. crash

A woman is facing a murder charge after a fatal wreck Saturday afternoon on US 68 in Logan County.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department says 47-year old Margie Johnson of Springfield, Tennessee was traveling west on Stevenson Mill Road about 1:30 p.m. and failed to stop at the stop sign at US 68.

She struck a minivan driven by 80-year old Carl Hodges of Auburn, sending it into a guard rail and ejecting Hodges from the vehicle.

Hodges was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Johnson was transported to Vanderbilt for treatment of her injuries and an arrest warrant has been issued against her for murder, aggravated DUI and other criminal charges.
