CCHS graduates class of 2018

It was a time of both celebration and remembrance Friday night as Christian County High School sent off the graduates of 2018 into the rest of their lives.

The families of the students filled the Stadium of Champions to cheer on their graduates and remember the teens who were killed in a wreck on May 13, including senior Jacory Burse. The younger siblings of Burse accepted his diploma in his stead to thunderous applause, as he would have graduated Friday.

The commencement address was given by English teacher Heather Turner, who urged her now former students to never give up, even if something doesn’t go the way the planned the first time. She says this class is diligent and unique and she will always remember them.

The valedictorian for the Christian County class of 2018 was Raegan Hancock, and the salutatorians were Halle Hendricks and Georgia Salmon.

Many students were recognized, including Gateway Academy students, Beta Club members, honor graduates, Governor’s scholars and members of the National Honor Society.
