Princeton’s Emma Talley had a three under par 68 in her opening round at the LPGA Tour’s Kingsmill Classic. Talley is tied for 17th, three shots behind five players including Jessica Korda who are all at six under par.
At the PGA Tour’s Byron Nelson Classic, Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker opened with a four under par 67, while Kentuckian JB Holmes had a two under 69. Marc Leishman had a 10 under 61 and has a three shot lead.
Rain suspended play at the PGA Tour Champions first major of the year, the Regions Tradition, for a time Thursday. Franklin’s Kenny Perry is tied for 10th following an opening round four under 68. Paducah’s Russ Cochran had a three over par 75. Miguel Angel Jimenez’ stands at eight under 64 and leads four golfers by two strokes.
