Four Republicans seeking Todd Co. Jailer nomination

Four Republicans are facing off in a May primary for the chance to face incumbent Todd County Jailer Greg Allen in November and three of them spoke at the recent Elkton Rotary Club political forum.

John Kevin Parker touts his experience in the South Carolina Department of Corrections and at the Logan County Jail and says he’d begin a substance abuse program to rehabilitate inmates for life after incarceration.

Jeff Penick believes he can address the high employee turnover rate at the Todd County Jail—a problem common at many jails and prisons across the country.

William Dunn says he’d use technology to make the jail more efficient and would look at decreasing turnover.

Tim Slade is also running in the four-way primary, but was not at the Rotary Club Forum.
