Clarksville PD charges man in relation to two robberies

The Clarksville Police Department has arrested a man Wednesday in relation to two robberies that occurred on the same day.

According to a news release, an officer was refueling at a gas station on Dover Road when a citizen began yelling to him that the store was being robbed just as 63-year old Tony Hiter fled the store. The officer was able to pursue him and take him into custody.  Since the robbery was interrupted, Hiter was unable to steal any cash or property.

Investigation determined that Hiter had attempted to hold the clerk at knifepoint and Hiter had allegedly robbed a different store earlier in the day using the same method. Hiter was able to allegedly steal an undisclosed amount of cash from that robbery.

Hiter is charged with robbery, attempted robbery, theft, evading arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
