Three Hopkins County residents were arrested on drug charges Friday.

The Madisonville-Hopkins County VICE/Narcotics Unit was conducting surveillance operations in Earlington due to drug trafficking complaints and made a traffic stop of a vehicle for a traffic offense, according to a news release.

The driver, 25-year old Joshua Scott of Madisonville, exited the vehicle and had a strong chemical odor coming from his person. Police say they found cash and synthetic drug residue in his backpack and methamphetamine and synthetic drugs in his vehicle.

A search warrant was obtained for the 201 New Arnold Street home Scott parked his vehicle at in Earlington and police say they found methamphetamine, over five pounds of synthetic drugs, anabolic steroids and three guns.

Scott and a resident of the home—40-year old Donald Terry—were arrested for trafficking in meth and synthetic drugs.  Donald Terry was also charged with trafficking in steroids and possession of a controlled substance.

Another resident of the home, 45-year old Ronald Terry, was arrested for possession of a handgun and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
