Franklin’s Kenny Perry had a one over par 73 and is tied for 62nd place after the first round of the PGA Tour Champions Insperity Invitational at The Woodlands, TX. Bernhard Langer at nine under 63 has a three shot lead heading into today’s second round. Paducah’s Russ Cochran is tied for 10th at four under 68.

On the PGA Tour, Peter Malnati holds the lead after the second round of the Wells Fargo Championship, where Tiger Woods made the cut despite a 73. Woods did end his second round with his only birdie of the day to get to 2-over for the tournament.
Malnati followed an opening-round 67 with a 68 to get to 7-under, one stroke better than Jason Day and Aaron Wise. Louisville area native Justin Thomas is at even par with JB Holmes at two over par going into today’s third round.
