Clarksville woman charged in infant daughter’s death

A Clarksville mother has been charged with murder in the death of her infant daughter after the child was found unresponsive at an Orleans Drive.

According to a news release from the Clarksville Police Department, officers responded to the residence around 12 p.m. Saturday and found the four-month old girl not breathing. Officers and EMS performed CPR and the child was transported to Tennova Hospital. The child failed to regain consciousness and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Detectives began investigating the circumstances around her death and as a result of that investigation, the mother of the infant, 25-year old Sarah Scribner of Clarksville, was arrested and charged with criminal homicide.
