Trial set for Monday in infant manslaughter case

The woman charged with second-degree manslaughter for the death of her infant son is still set for a Monday trial.

Defense attorney Michael Thompson had a request to delay the trial date for 21-year old Desiree Catlett denied Wednesday morning by Judge John Atkins, according to court officials.

Hopkinsville Police were called to a home on Evergreen Park Drive in October 2016 and found Catlett’s son not breathing. Kentucky Revised Statute states a person is guilty of manslaughter in the second degree when he or she wantonly causes the death of another person.
