Governor Matt Bevin has apologized to anyone who was hurt by remarks he made Friday about teachers who rallied in Frankfort, causing school systems across Kentucky to close.

The governor talked on Friday about unintended consequences of the school closures, guaranteeing that somewhere in Kentucky a child who was left at home alone was sexually assaulted, physically harmed or ingested poison.

On Sunday, the Governor spoke to Kentuckians in a Facebook video and says he did a poor job of communicating what he intended to say and urged all parties to work together.

Gov. Bevin thanks those who want a positive outcome to pension reform efforts and understands that the livelihoods of many are at stake in the discussions.

The 2018 session of the Kentucky General Assembly which included pension reform legislation that Gov. Bevin signed concluded Saturday evening.
