Kentucky’s biennial budget is in the hands of a conference committee that will meet again Monday in an attempt to find compromise on a spending plan leaders in the House and Senate can agree upon.

Senator Whitney Westerfield of Hopkinsville says he didn’t like everything about the budget approved by the Senate Tuesday, but it had to get out of the upper chamber to get to where everyone knew it would end up—the bipartisan conference committee made up of leaders in the House and Senate.

Representative Myron Dosett of Pembroke believes some of the spending the Senate cut from the House plan will be put back in by the committee.

Representative Walker Thomas of Hopkinsville reminds that getting a budget approved in the coming week is of the utmost importance.
