There will be a going away party at the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville in the coming week as the facility will close for about a year while the facility undergoes renovations.
You can stop by the museum to get one last look at it how it is now and there will be no charge for admission beginning Tuesday and lasting through Saturday, March 31. Special activities are scheduled on that Saturday at a “Bon Voyage Party,” according to a news release, which says Museum Executive Director Alissa Keller will give a presentation titled “Bringing New Life to Our History: A Museum Looks at Interpretation, Renovation, & Design” at 3 p.m. on Friday.
A grand opening of the renovated museum is anticipated in spring of 2019.
