UT loses while Louisville advances in Women’s NCAA tournament

Oregon State topped Tennessee 66-59 Sunday in Knoxville to hand the Lady Vols their first-ever home loss in NCAA Tournament play. Tennessee had been 57-0 all-time at home in NCAA Tournament games and failed to reach the Sweet 16 in consecutive years for the first time in the program’s 37-year tournament history.

Louisville advanced cruising by Marquette in Lexington Region second round action Sunday 90-72. The 34-2 Cardinals will go to Rupp Arena and face the winner of tonight’s Stanford-Florida Gulf Coast contest next Sunday and Monday.
