For the first time in NCAA Tournament history, a 16 seed defeated a one seed last night in the South Region as Maryland-Baltimore County upset top overall seed Virginia 74-54. Number one seeds are now 135-1 against 16 seeds since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985. UMBC will face Kansas State in second round action Sunday in Charlotte.
