Major rehab project to begin on Parkway Monday

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet intends to commence on a concrete rehabilitation project along the Pennyrille Parkway in Christian and Hopkins counties starting Monday.

The project extends from near the 16 mile-marker in Christian County northward to near the U.S. 41 ramp overpass near the 30 mile-marker in Hopkins County.

Initial work will involve construction of median crossovers to allow the contractor to move to two-way traffic along about a six-mile section of the work zone starting sometime in April.  The work zone will be divided into about six phases spread over about 18 months.

Motorists are reminded that caution is required where equipment, flaggers and other personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Hall Contracting of Ky. is the prime contractor on this $43.2 million project.  This project has a target completion date of August 31, 2019.
