Man indicted for attempted ATM break-ins

Meeting for the first time, the March-April Christian County Grand jury indicted a man Friday who allegedly twice tried to break into the Crofton United Southern Bank ATM last year.

Facing two counts of felony attempted theft by unlawful taking, two counts of criminal mischief, criminal possession of a forged instrument, fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest is 50-year old Joseph Scottie Parrott.

The alleged crimes happened in December and Parrott had also been sought in connection with other alleged burglaries in north Christian County as he attempted to avoid capture for several days.


John August

Meanwhile, 52-year old John August was indicted for felony theft by unlawful taking, over $10,000. The indictment alleges that in 2015, August stole tools, electronics, appliances and household goods belonging to Derek Tomasello.
