Kentucky unemployment dropped in January

Kentucky’s jobless rate dropped from December to January.

The seasonally adjusted preliminary January unemployment rate was 4.3 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Education and Workforce Statistics. That was down from the revised 4.5 percent reported for December 2017.

That was down nine-tenths of a point from the 5.2 percent recorded for the state in January 2017.

The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for January was unchanged from the 4.1 percent reported for December 2017, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
