Lawmaker seeks public input on proposed gas tax hike

There’s a proposal to raise the tax on a gallon of gasoline in Kentucky by 10 cents to bring in additional revenue for repairing roads and one local lawmaker wants feedback from constituents on how they feel about the measure.

Republican state Representative Walker Thomas of Hopkinsville serves on the House Transportation Committee and says the additional money could be put to good use.

He says Hopkinsville stands to benefit if the additional revenue is generated.

He encourages constituents to contact him with their thoughts on the proposed increase.
