Both men will spend the next three months in field training before going on full-time patrol as a single unit.

Jefferson is the son of Lawanda Carr of Elkton and is the grandson of Eugene and Evelyn Jefferson. He’s a 2003 graduate of Todd County Central High School.

Skjerseth was a squad leader, while at the Academy, and received the “Fit for Duty Award” and “Leadership Award” during the graduation ceremony held in Richmond.
