Man flown to Indiana hospital after Madisonville wreck

A Madisonville man was flown to an Indiana hospital for injuries sustained in a two-vehicle wreck on West Broadway in Hopkins County Thursday.

According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, a moped driven by 56-year old William Vandiver of Madisonville was travelling west on Broadway. He was allegedly operating the moped in a reckless manner and drove into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by 37-year old Amanda Barnett of Madisonville.

The moped struck the side of Barnett’s vehicle in the intersection of Broadway and South Madison. Barnett was not injured, but Vandiver was taken by helicopter to St. Mary’s in Evansville, Indiana due to his injuries.
