Second victim accuses former Clarksville NWHS track coach of sexual abuse

A former Clarksville Northwest High School track and field coach already accused of sexually molesting an athlete in 2016 has been accused of committing similar crimes against a different victim while on a trip to Lexington.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department served an arrest warrant for third-degree sexual abuse Thursday against 50-year old Joseph Hart of Clarksville. It alleges that on February 19, 2016, Hart was the 18-year old female victim’s track coach when they went to an indoor meet in Fayette County, Kentucky.

They stayed in separate rooms at the Fairview Inn and Suites and Hart asked the victim if she wanted a massage. The victim agreed, as he had given her athletic massages before, but said that on this occasion he reached into her shorts and shirt and touched her private parts.

The alleged victim told him to only massage her legs, but told police he continued the contact until she told him it was inappropriate, stood up and said she was done.

Hart told police he did not recall inappropriately touching the victim, according to the warrant.

Lexington Police investigated the incident.

He was arrested in the summer of 2016 for alleged inappropriate contact with a 15-year old female athlete while giving her a massage. That incident happened in Mongtomery County, according to Clarksville Police.
