Dawson Springs man arrested for meth trafficking

Two Dawson Springs residents were arrested Wednesday at the Red Cardinal Inn in Madisonville.

Madisonville Police Officer Joey Keelin went to the facility after receiving a complaint of heavy foot traffic at a specific room and determined both occupants—23-year old Johnney McKinney and 25-year old Emilee Gonzalez of Dawson Springs—were both wanted on warrants.

A search warrant was obtained and police say they found approximately 300 grams of methamphetamine, several syringes loaded with methamphetamine, several used syringes, prescription pills, plastic baggies and digital scales.

McKinney told police he ate about 10 grams of meth as Officer Keelin entered the room.

McKinney was arrested for trafficking and possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Gonzalez was served with the warrant for contempt of court.
