A second person has died from injuries sustained in the fiery accident Monday morning on I-24 in Christian County.
A spokesperson for Vanderbilt University Medical Center confirmed that Joan Lyons of Iowa died from her injuries at 12:48 p.m. Monday. She is the sister of 55-year old Mary Engrav of Iowa, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another sister of the victims was reportedly in the same vehicle and was treated for relatively minor injuries.
Six other people were injured in the accident and taken to area hospitals.
Kentucky State Police investigated the crash and has not released details.
