A man fishing out of a kayak drowned in an accident Wednesday afternoon on Kentucky Lake in Stewart County.
The victim was identified by Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Officer Joe Campbell as 40-year old Christopher Haller of Puryear, Tennessee.
Campbell says a man at Gray’s Landing heard Haller screaming about 3:30 p.m. and dialed 911.
Responding agencies found the overturned kayak and Haller in the water nearby.
Campbell says gusty winds may have been a factor in the incident.
Gray’s Landing is located on Kentucky Lake just north of US Highway 79 in Stewart County.
