Former Murray State and Phoenix Suns guard Isaiah Canaan suffered a gruesome broken ankle – and reportedly fractured fibula – in a 102-88 win over the Dallas Mavericks last night.
The backup point guard was injured on a contested drive to the basket in the final seconds of the first quarter before his ankle gave way and his left foot was pointing in the wrong direction as he tumbled to the floor. Canaan, who was loaded onto a stretcher and wheeled off, will undergo surgery.
