Hopkinsville man charged with second degree burglary

Hopkinsville police arrested a Hopkinsville man Tuesday on charges of second degree burglary.

According to the police report, 46-year old William Thomas Rush Jr. of Hopkinsville was seen unlawfully entering a residence on Younglove Street and allegedly removing several items and placing them into the back of his truck.

Upon being confronted, Rush removed the items from the back of the truck and put them by the backdoor. Officers made contact with the homeowner of the unoccupied house, who reportedly identified the missing items.

A filing cabinet was allegedly located in the back of Rush’s truck that contained papers with the homeowner’s information inside.
