United Way of the Pennyrile President Jennifer Maddux has announced her intent resign after serving six and a half years in the position.

According to a news release, Maddux says the decision came after much thought and consideration and it is time for a change in leadership. She says she will look back on her time as President with nothing but fond memories and gratitude, thanking the Board of Directors and many volunteers for their support. Maddux’s plans for the immediate future include spending additional time with her family, although she does foresee re-entering the workforce.

United Way Board Chair Holly Boggess says, “Our Board is extremely proud of the leadership, energy, time and many successes Jennifer has brought to this organization. The tremendous financial assistance and awareness she has been able to help garner for the partner agencies within our region is indicative of her passion for helping others. She will be missed by all who are associated with the United Way of the Pennyrile.”

The board will officially accept Maddux’s resignation at the February 12 meeting. The search for a successor is expected to begin immediately with plans to have a new President in place prior to kicking off the 2018 annual campaign.                                                                                                **
