Traffic stop leads to arrest on gun charge

A traffic stop at Fort Campbell Boulevard and Country Club Lane late Saturday night led to the arrest of a man on a gun charge.

The arrest citation for 28-year old Joshua Fox of Hopkinsville says he was pulled over for driving with his bright lights on and for having a canceled license plate. The officer saw movement between Fox and a passenger and determined he was trying to hide a .22 caliber handgun. Fox is a convicted felon and denied ownership of the gun, but police say he was wearing a holster.

A K9 alerted on the vehicle and the report says officers found several needles, a scale with residue and nine loose bullets and a box of ammunition. Fox reportedly admitted the needles and ammunition belonged to him. He was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without registration.
