Madisonville Police have arrested a man accused of setting a house on fire late Wednesday night.
Officers were dispatched to 1104 Grapevine Road in Madisonville just before midnight Wednesday when Jayne Scott called 911 to report someone trying to break into her home. While on the phone with dispatch, Scott reported her house had been set on fire and officers arrived to find the south side of the structure engulfed in flames.
Madisonville firefighters arrived and quickly got the blaze under control.
An investigation by Madisonville Police led to the arrest of 33-year old Jason Shomer for first-degree arson Thursday afternoon.
